The government of Andhra Pradesh has decided to rename the Mid Day Meal Scheme to Andhra Pradesh Jagananna Gorumudda Scheme 2021. The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy made the announcement on January 21, 2020. This program will ensure that all students have access to nutritious food during their school hours.

The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister also said that the state’s government has decided to increase the salaries of people who prepare and distribute these meals during school hours. Also, good ingredients will be available in all organizations to prepare a mid-day meal for all public school children in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Raising wages will provide a healthy environment for all Andhra Pradesh lunch distributors.

 

Andhra Pradesh Jagananna Gorumudda Scheme 2021

Andhra Pradesh Jagananna Gorumudda Scheme is a school meal program of Andhra Pradesh designed to improve the nutritional status of school-going children. The program provides free lunch on working days for primary and secondary school children in government / government-assisted schools.

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy briefed the Andhra Pradesh State Assembly on the changes made to the lunch program to provide students with quality and healthy food. He also confirmed the house in the Amma Vodi Scheme where each mother is given 15,000 a year by sending their children to schools.

 

Background of the Andhra Pradesh Jagananna Gorumudda (Mid Day Meal) Scheme 

The Andhra Pradesh Jagananna Gorumudda (Mid Day Meal Scheme) Scheme has been launched by the Government of India to assist poor students from rural and urban areas and to address issues of food insecurity, food insecurity and access to education. With the help of this program, Khichdilunch is provided on working days in primary and secondary schools of Government, Government Aided, Local Body STC, Madarsas and Maqtabs i.e. supported under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA).

The Jagananna Gorumudda Scheme was launched in January 2003 for primary school children (Class I to V) and in October 2008, the same was given to children in Upper Primary Schools (Classes VI to VIII) and for children in High School (Class IX). & X) have 100% state funds. This has been transferred to children in special schools under the NCLP from the 2010-11 academic year.

Menu for Andhra Pradesh Jagananna Gorumudda Scheme 2021

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has also announced an increase in the amount of recognition for lunch staff. Approximately 36.59 lakhs of children have benefited from the hot and nutritious hot food at 45 236 schools in 2019-20.

Here is the new Mid-day Meal menu for students under the Andhra Pradesh Jagananna Gorumudda program: –

Specific Details Regarding the Meals

Officials from the Andhra Pradesh Government also say boiled eggs will be provided to all students of public schools in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Boiled eggs will be given four times a week to all students from the school to study. Meals are also served to students from first grade to 10th grade. Proper use and distribution of food are expected of all relevant public school authorities. Also, all DEOs are instructed to ensure that MDM bills are submitted to Treasury by the 5th of each month in the last month’s payments and payment must be made by the 10th of each month.

This menu is designed to meet the nutritional needs of school children, where changes will be made to the diet throughout the week. On Monday, when students will be served rice, preparation of nuts and egg curry, boiled eggs, tomato paste, and puliohara will be available on Tuesday’s menu.

Wednesday’s menu will include Aalu kurma, vegetable rice, chickpeas, and boiled egg. To maintain the enjoyment of school meals for students, on Thursday, a boiled egg, khichdi, and tomatoes will be added. On Friday the students will be given rice, nuts, asparagus and boiled eggs. Finally, on Saturday, students will receive delicious Pongal, rice and sambar.

 

Implementation of the Andhra Pradesh Jagananna Gorumudda Scheme (MDM Menu) 

Here is the full information and details of the Mid Day Meal Scheme in Andhra Pradesh which will be used as follows: –

 

All District Education Ministers (DEOs) in the AP province are hereby informed that the Mid Day Meal Scheme is being implemented in all State / Local Government / Aided schools. School / NCLP / Madarsas Models for students studying in classes I to X in Government. As directed by the Government, a boiled egg should be given four times a week to all students under the Mid Day Meal Scheme.

The menu mentioned above for MDM should be used in all schools under the Mid Day Food Scheme and officials should ensure that egg is donated at set times during the week.

In addition, all DEOs are instructed to ensure that MDM bills are submitted to Treasury by the 5th of each month in the previous month’s payments and must be paid by the 10th of each month. Any delays in the implementation of the Mid Day Meal Scheme will be closely monitored.
