The government of Andhra Pradesh launched Jagananna Vidya Deevena Scheme 2021 which was approved back in late 2019. This scheme will provide 100 % fee reimbursement to students who cannot afford a proper education. Jagananna Vasati Deevena Scheme and YSR Kapu Nestham Scheme were launched by the Andhra Pradesh government the same day Jagananna Vasati Deevena Scheme was launched.
The Jagananna Vidya Deevena Scheme online application form is available at navasakam.ap.gov.in where people can download and apply for its benefits.
The Jagananna Vidya Deevena Scheme is launched to ensure that the students are pursuing their education without worrying about any expenditure on their part. The Andhra Pradesh state government will pay fees for all quarters in a single year without any terms and conditions. The Andhra Pradesh government has spent nearly Rs.12,000 crore in the past 11 months on the children’s education sector. This scheme will be very beneficial for around 12 lakh poor students to encourage them to pursue their higher studies as they want to according to the respective fields of their choices.
Andhra Pradesh government will also release funds of Rs. 1,880 crore which was leftover by the previous Telugu Desam Party (TDP) government in the form of arrears along with a fee reimbursement amount of Rs. 4,000 crore.

Eligibility For the Scheme
Understated are a few of the important features and highlights of Jagananna Vidya Deevena Scheme as follows:-
- Under Jagananna Vidya Deevena Scheme, the fee of students who have applied under the scheme belonging to under-privileged Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, backward classes, minorities, Kapus, economically backward classes and differently-abled categories will be reimbursed.
- Any student whose family gross income annually is less than Rs. 2.5 lakh can apply for the Jagananna Vidya Deevena Scheme.
- Those with 10 acres of wetland and 25 acres of dry land are also eligible for the benefit.
- Students who come from families of sanitation workers and those who are professionally dependent on taxis, auto, and tractors have no income limit set on themselves. But, people who pay the income tax are not eligible for this scheme.
- Students pursuing B Tech, B Pharmacy, M Tech, M Pharmacy, MBA, MCA, BEd and other such courses will get the full fee reimbursement initially.
Andhra Pradesh Jagananna Vasati Deevena Scheme
Andhra Pradesh government also came up with Jagananna Vasati Deevena Scheme to help students with their hostel charges when they move to an institution for studies under the Jagananna Vidya Deevena Scheme. Under the Jagananna Vasati Deevena scheme, ITI students will receive Rs 10,000, polytechnic students Rs 15,000, and degree students Rs 20,000 every year as their mess charges. The amount would be paid in two installments and will be deposited in the student’s mother’s bank account, one in December and the other in July.
The cabinet also allocated Rs 2,300 crore every year for Jagananna Vasathi Deevana Scheme. The minister said the allocation for this scheme was enhanced by Rs 1,500 crore compared to the previous allocation by the previous government Telugu Desam Party. A total of 11,44,490 students are expected to benefit from both the Jagananna Vidya Deevena Scheme and Jagan Anna Vasati Deevena Scheme. Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party government has increased the allocation for fee reimbursement scheme by Rs. 1,800 crores as compared to the annual allocation made by the previous Telugu Desam Party government.
Andhra Pradesh YSR Kapu Nestham Scheme
The cabinet of Andhra Pradesh also approves YSR Kapu Nestham Scheme for women hailing from communities like Kapu, Balija, Telaga, Ontari. Under this scheme, women between the age of 45 to 60 years will be given an allowance of Rs.15,000 per year. Every single recipient will get a sum of Rs 75,000 in five years which will help them improve their lifestyle. The cabinet approved the immediate implementation of the YSR Kapu Nestham scheme with an allowance of Rs 1,101 crore the first year and Rs 900 crore every year hence.
Andhra Pradesh Vahana Mitra Scheme Phase 2
The Andhra Pradesh government has also allocated Rs. 63 crore for implementation of Vahana Mitra Scheme Phase 2 for auto, taxi, maxi cab owners cum drivers. This scheme will be beneficial for each driver/owner as they will get Rs. 10,000 per annum for annual maintenance of their vehicles. Andhra Pradesh Vahana Mitra Scheme was launched in September 2019 and over 1.7 lakh applications were approved and sanctioned for financial aid.
